INTRODUCTION

This book is for students, young adults, married couples, parents and grandparents. It is about the "Restoration of the Family Home." The strong winds of changing values, these external elements, have worn and torn tirelessly at the construction of family life and it needs to be repaired.

To remodel our home will take work, and we will first need to remove the decayed weakened structure and replace it with a stronger, newer edifice. To begin, we will need a floor plan to remodel our Family Home which has been designed by our architect, Sathya Sai Baba. His Divine Blueprint, His Teachings, are incorporated throughout the structure of this book helping us in a "Step by Step - How To Do" method.

The teachings of Sai Baba on parenting, embodying His dharmic wisdom, are the most spiritually correct methods on how to teach Human Values to our children for the purpose of building character with love, understanding and discipline.

The issues that are discussed in this book are the key issues that parents have defined in our Sathya Sai Parenting workshops. Discipline is the big issue, our children are out of control and we need to correct this problem.

Another major issue is the immoral influence coming into our homes from the television, internet, and video games. The media is bringing inferior values into our homes and shaping the character of our children. This outside influence is penetrating all homes, thus peer pressure and parent pressure to comply with the values of others is powerful. Parents need a strong support system to combat the war on immorality.

This book includes Sai Baba's teachings on parenting issues, as well as scientific research that is now available supporting some major teachings of Sai Baba concerning parenting. The scientific community through recent research states a strong case for devotees to change. They need to implement different parenting techniques, and this research can help with explanations to their children, relatives and friends.

This book will strengthen your reasons for a forcible parenting style. Your children are His children requiring that we teach and shape their character into mature adults who will learn and understand the nature of their own divinity, as well as the purpose of serving mankind with love. The children are His instruments to help with His Mission to create a society based on Truth, Peace, Right Conduct, Love and Non-violence.
