Special events held in the Middle East

Rita and Robert Bruce were invited to the Middle East in September, 2007 by Mr. GB Choithram Jethwami, member of the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation and Regional Central Coordinator Region 94, Middle East and Gulf, for conducting seminars on Education in Human Values, and Value Parenting to be held at Zayed University in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Under the Patronage of the Sai Group Dubai and in the Presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, United Arab Emirates, and President of Zayed University, "Education in Human Values and Value Parenting" was presented by Mrs. Rita and Mr. Robert Bruce.

The Keynote address at Zayed University, Dubai Campus was given by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, United Arab Emirates, and President of Zayed University.

Special guests included:

• Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University

• Mr. Venu Rajamony, Indian Council General,

• Professor Dr. A. H. Dawood Al-Azdi Former Minister-Pleni at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - UAE, Director from HCT Abu Dhabi Men's College

The following day Mrs. Rita Bruce and Mr. Robert Bruce presented the "Education in Human Values and Value Parenting Seminar" at Zayed University, Abu Dhabi Campus. Participants of the seminar were the Minister of Education, VIP's, University Professors, Supervisors of the Educational Field, Businessmen, Officials, and Managers .

Rita and Robert Bruce also held similar seminars and workshops in the other Gulf Countries of Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait during a two week tour in September, 2007, followed by a seminar in Oman in December, 2007.

In attendance, throughout their visit to the Middle East were Ministers, Educators, University Professors and Students, Parents, VIP's and Guests, and local school Principals and Teachers.

The focal point of the seminars was integrating the various attributes of the human nature to ensure a "complete and balanced learning experience." They emphasized the adoption of value-based themes like peace, truth, non-violence in the classroom setting and outlined the framework for development and adoption of this unique teaching methodology in day-to-day communications.

The seminars also included the sharing of knowledge about the four unique and fully developed aspects or attributes that humans have:

• Emotions

• Intellect

• Discrimination

• Physical Body Senses

Rita and Robert Bruce have assessed the working mechanism of these four aspects and how these attributes are related to five human values. The Four aspects of Human Nature help evolve each of the five Human Values:

• The job of emotions is to evolve PEACE

• The job of the intellect is to evolve TRUTH

• The job of the discrimination is to evolve RIGHT CONDUCT

• The job of physical body/senses is to evolve NON-VIOLENCE

• The value that is within all values is LOVE
